Derek McCreanor founded Enhance Acoustics in 2018, bringing together a unique combination of technical expertise, acoustic consultancy experience, and a passion for creating exceptional sounding spaces.

Derek's journey into acoustics began with a Master's Degree in Music and Media Technology from Trinity College Dublin, completed in 2013. His academic background in sound and audio engineering provided the foundation for a career dedicated to the science and application of acoustics across a wide range of sectors.

In 2014, Derek joined a leading Irish acoustic consultancy, where he gained extensive experience working on major residential, commercial, educational, industrial, and performance space projects throughout Ireland and internationally. During this time, he contributed to several landmark developments, including the DIT Conservatoire of Music and Drama at Grangegorman, Dublin, the Troy Studios Sound Stage in Limerick, and numerous large-scale projects across the education, healthcare, residential, and commercial sectors.

Committed to continuous professional development, Derek achieved a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control with Merit through the Institute of Acoustics before completing a Master's Degree in Applied Acoustics with Merit through the University of Derby. He became a Corporate Member of the Institute of Acoustics in 2016 and continues to advance his professional qualifications through the organisation.

Since establishing Enhance Acoustics, Derek has built a reputation for delivering practical, innovative, and client-focused acoustic solutions. The company now serves clients across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America, providing consultancy, acoustic design, testing, and specialist treatment solutions for a diverse range of projects.

One of Enhance Acoustics' most notable commissions was the delivery of a complete acoustic consultancy, design, manufacture, and installation package for the prestigious piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons at their New York headquarters. The project involved the creation of a bespoke VIP showroom and performance space, with Enhance Acoustics responsible for every stage of the acoustic design process. The company continues to collaborate with Steinway & Sons on the development of specialist tuning rooms and acoustic environments within their manufacturing facilities.

Today, Derek leads Enhance Acoustics with a commitment to combining technical excellence, innovative design, and outstanding client service to create spaces that sound as good as they look.
