Steinway & Sons New York - The Vault

Project

Clients often approach Enhance Acoustics with a general idea of what they need, and this project was no different -

"The ideal room acoustic response for the bespoke instruments contained within"

We were able to jump right in with our expertise and developed an acoustic treatment plan that not only optimized the room acoustic response but was also sympathetic to the clients aesthetic vision for the space.

Room acoustic solution that is sympathetic to the desired aesthetic for the space.

Our design process incorporates the creation of a 3D room acoustic model. From this model we produced auralization files which allowed the client to listen to the room response before it was even built.

Room acoustic prediction software

As part of our service on this project we designed, produced and installed Hybrid Acoustic Panels (HAP) which provided both absorption and diffusion within the space.

Manufacturing Hybrid Acoustic Panels (HAP)

When the project was complete we carried out Reverberation Time (RT) tests in 'The Vault' to verify that our design concept was delivered to the client. The graph below shows the predicted RT versus the Measured RT in 'The Vault'.

Today, the Vault at Steinway & Sons factory in New York is in full operation and has won awards at CEDIA for its Lighting Design and installation.

We are very proud to have been part of this project.
